Integrated B.S./M.S. Program

Interested undergraduates may plan a course of study that leads to both the BS in Civil Engineering and the MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering.  With the approval of their academic advisor, students may take courses while an undergraduate that will count toward their MS degree as long as these courses are beyond the 373 units required for the BS in Civil Engineering degree.   This course of study will ordinarily require ten semesters of study, although advanced placement or other study may reduce this time.

Students must submit application for admission to the MS program no later than the 7th semester of their undergraduate program.  Admitted students will be registered in graduate status in the 9th and 10th semesters of study.  Upon admission, they will have a graduate studies advisor assigned to them.  The students are expected to meet with the graduate advisors regularly in selecting the courses that they plan to take for their graduate studies.  Admitted students are also required to attend two semesters of graduate student seminars in their corresponding fields.

Interested students should consult with their academic advisor, and then contact Maxine Leffard, Graduate Program Administrator, at the beginning of their senior year for information about application and transfer of graduate level courses to the MS program.
